Are there really more moose than people in the Great North Woods? No, but the state's northernmost region is its least populated with small towns among a patchwork of farms, fields and forest. Family and friends can get away to this area to commune with nature.
Outdoor recreation opportunities abound in this region dominated by vast woods, fast-moving rivers, fertile valleys, bold mountains, and isolated lakes.
