New Hampshire has plenty to do for outdoor-oriented groups.

Why Reunite in NH?

  1. At our reunion, we’re expecting family members of all ages and abilities. What venue might accommodate a diverse group?
Many New Hampshire resorts have on-site recreation centers where each guest can choose a favorite activity, from tennis and skiing to garden tours and golf. Communities also offer cooking and art classes, winery tours, kayaking and snowmobiling trips, shoreline walks, live theater, outlet shopping, and train and boat excursions. In addition, many New Hampshire lodging properties, campgrounds and venues are equipped for ADA access.

  2. How do we take advantage of a group discount at area hotels and resorts?
Most properties offer group discounts depending on the size of the group. Browse through New Hampshire properties through the property search fill out and send your RFP directly through the property. The property will respond to you with date availability and group rates.

  3. We’re an outdoor-oriented group and want to be outside as much as possible. Can you suggest some outings?
New Hampshire is all about adventure, from snowmobiling, skiing, and ice fishing in winter, to horseback riding, mountaineering, white-water rafting and mountain biking in warmer weather. Local outfitters rent equipment, supply maps, and can guide your group on a customized expedition.

  4. Those attending our reunion will be flying/driving to New Hampshire from all over the country. Could you suggest some sites that are close to the airport/major highways?
Air travelers will most likely fly in to Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT), northern New England’s premier airport, about 50 miles north of Boston. Manchester is directly off Interstate 93, one of the state’s major highways, and is easily reached by bus. It only takes about an hour to drive from the airport to Hampton Beach, so you can make plans to meet on the shoreline. Amtrak’s Downeaster has different stations along New Hampshire’s Seacoast Region. Lake Sunapee, a popular recreation area in western New Hampshire, and Lake Winnipesaukee, in central New Hampshire, is about an hour drive from the airport, or you could stay at an inn or conference center closer to Manchester, in the Merrimack Valley Region.

  5. Our group is committed to meeting, but we’re watching our wallets. What kind of venues might you suggest for economically minded gatherings?
New Hampshire state parks are a great value. Groups can reserve pavilions, campsites, and other group-use areas. State parks are located on the ocean, lakes, and in the mountains. Fishing, swimming, hiking, and playing sports in open fields are a few activities. For a list, go to www.nhstateparks.org.

  6. Where can I find ancillary reunion planning services such as area attractions, transportation, caterers, etc., once I find a site?
Choosing a location out of so many great options is just the first step to organizing a reunion; there are many experienced and reliable service businesses in New Hampshire to help with the next steps. The regional associations and chambers of commerce are truly the experts on their parts of the state and can best connect you to those businesses that can meet your needs.
